Beavis and Butt-head Do America. © MTV Networks. A Paramount release. D: Mike Judge. Tracks and performers include: ”Two Cool Guys” theme by Isaac Hayes; ”Lesbian Seagull” by Engelbert Humperdinck; tracks by White Zombie, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. Voice talent: Mike Judge, Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Robert Stack. 81’ = 78’ /25 fps/ PAL. DIST: Finnkino. VHS projection in Helsinki, VET, Tuesday 20 January 1998. **** First rate animated feature succeeds in the difficult task of transcending the televisual origins of the material. Most of the Beavis and Butt-head routines are discarded. Instead, the story is based on the picaresque form. The film starts as the duo’s TV set is confiscated. During their quest of a new one they get to travel from coast to coast , become America’s Most Wanted criminals, darken the lights of Vegas, break the Hoover Dam and cause the worst freeway catastrophe in history. Well paced, with a solid soundtrack, and many good jokes.
