This is the best print of this film, much better than the ones available before the MoMA restoration, although it is struck from a dupe negative which is not perfectly sharp. Revisiting this familiar film I enjoyed it more than ever, and the screening was rewarded by laughter from the audience, proving that the comic timing of Lubitsch remains effective. It is a comedy of manners, but beneath the surface there is the deep current of real feeling and concern about human relationships. The foundation work of the mature Lubitsch touch.
