The author refers to it as a “Waste King Universal Disposal”. Actually, the vacuum cleaner used in the sequence was a Convertible upright, model 68, made by the Hoover Company of North Canton, Ohio. Waste King/Universal was, at that time, a manufacturer of dishwashers and electric food waste disposers (also referred to as “disposalls”).
