We founded the high school students' film society Solaris in May 1976. It grew to the second largest film society in Finland. From the beginning, the membership card boasted a sponsor ad of Epe's Music Shop. These were exciting times of Suomi-Rock, Finnish Punk and New Wave. The opening film was Woodstock.

Teuvo Tulio: Mustasukkaisuus [Jealousy] (FI 1953) starring Regina Linnanheimo. The rare telecast on 17 April 1976 on MTV2 was my first opportunity to see it. The telepremiere had been on 31 Oct 1962 at TES, but then we had no tv and I would not have understood anyway the tale of blindness and jealousy leading to madness. Tulio, "the wild bird of Finnish cinema", shot it with unbridled abandon. Many Finnish films (mostly produced by SF Suomen Filmiteollisuus) were on tv. Tulio always stood out.

Teuvo Tulio: Rikollinen nainen / [A Criminal Woman] (FI 1952). Happy days before the descent into the abyss: Judge Lauri Isokari (Tauno Majuri) and his wife Eeva Isokari (Regina Linnanheimo). Probably the first film I saw from Tulio, "the wild bird of Finnish cinema". His films stood out from the rest in wild abandon and scant regard for plausibility.
