Jack Couffer & Don Haldane: Nikki, Wild Dog of the North (US/CA 1961). PC: Walt Disney Company. Based on the novel Nomads of the North (1919, Finnish translation: Salomaiden samoilijat) by James Oliver Curwood. It is the thrilling saga of the unlikely friendship of a malamute dog and a black bear cub in the Wild North in the Canadian Rockies. Shot on location in Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada. Probably the first James Oliver Curwood movie I saw. To be compared with The Fox and the Hound.
