Fra Sibirien til Moskva / [The Jockey Dance from “From Siberia to Moscow”]

Peter Elfelt: Fra Sibirien til Moskva / [The Jockey Dance from “From Siberia to Moscow”] (DK 1905). Danserne Gustav Uhlendorff og Richard Jensen danser Jockeydansen fra balletten "Fra Sibirien til Moskva" sandsynligvis i Elfelts atelier på Østergade i København. My screengrab from: DR [Danmarks Radio] / dr.dk / Bonanza. Title: " Elfelt nr. 110. Fra Sibirien til Moskva 1905. "

[Dalla Siberia a Mosca] (DK 1905) regia/dir: Peter Elfelt. cast: Gustav Uhlendorff, Richard Jensen. copia/copy: 4K DCP, 2' (da/from 35 mm, 16 fps); senza did./no titles. fonte/source: Det Danske Filminstitut, København.
    Grand piano: Stephen Horne.
Teatro Verdi, Pordenone, Le Giornate del Cinema Muto (GCM), 11 Oct 2023.

Thomas C. Christensen (GCM 2023): " Fra Sibirien til Moskva (1876) was August Bournonville’s last long ballet. It was inspired by an 1874 trip to Russia, where Bournonville met Marius Petipa and saw several of his ballets. The music was composed by Carl Christian Møller. The smart prances of the Jockey Dance are here performed by Gustav Uhlendorff (1875-1962), dancer and later master of the Danish Royal Ballet in the 1920s, and dancer Richard Jensen (1883-1935), who acted in a number of Danish silent films in the early 1910s. "

AA: A funny dance number by the male duo Gustav Uhlendorff and Richard Jensen in jockey gear.
