Thomas C. Christensen (GCM 2023): " The Tarantella from August Bournonville’s 1842 ballet Napoli (1842), here enthusiastically performed by Hans Beck (1861-1952), soloist and head of the Royal Danish Ballet, and soloist Valborg Guldbrandsen (1872-1949; later known by her subsequent married surname Borchsenius). The scenes were filmed in Elfelt’s studio; the performance space was limited due to the lighting requirements. The Tarantella’s original music was by Holger Simon Paulli. "
AA: Like bit by the tarantula, Hans Beck and Valborg Guldbrandsen embark on a rousing and furious bout of tarantella, caught in a long take and in long shot by Peter Elfelt.
