The first public screening of a new Finnish feature movie made by new talent. They, too, just made the movie without going through the usual long official obstacle course.
The film-makers cry out loud, and their voice is fresh and original. It is about three young women coming to terms with devastating crises, and a tongue-tied janitor. There is a powerful psychic charge in the movie. Everything is at least off-balance, and sometimes helter skelter.
Ovia ja lukkoja is an experimental film with an original sense of sound and image. The talented artists will be worth following. Visual quality: heavy digital video look.
